The Manchester Royal Infirmary is the second hospital in the country to use the Cardiogen Generator for specialist scans which use radioactive liquilds to identify problems in the heart muscles.
Robert Shields, manager of the trust's nuclear medicine service said, "This is a remarkable development that will revolutionise our heart-scanning service".
