Latest News › In-Vivo Dosimetry and Monitor Unit software

With patient dose measurements coming under scrutiny Imaging Equipment are pleased to be able to offer two solutions, diode based rf-IVD systems and Radcalc MU software.

The recent Scottish Executive report was quite specific in its recommendations:-

‘Piloting of the new Radcalc software which will increase the capability for Monitor Unit checking from the current level……..to all plans is now complete. The Radcalc system is now fully implemented.

‘Consideration should be given to the use of in-VIVO dosimeters to measure the radiation dose delivered in the first fraction for those treatments where an independent check of dose cannot be carried out by other means.

Radcalc is one of the foremost independent MU software packages on the market and is favoured by leading UK radiotherapy treatment planning departments. It is offered in a tiered structure dependant of treatment practices, Bronze through to Platinum, this includes V&R, RTP import and IMRT planning.

rf-IVD systems manufactured by the Sun Nuclear corporation are the biggest selling type of instrumentation in Imaging Equipments comprehensive portfolio. This is because of some simple facts; the system is Accurate, Real time, Modular and Inexpensive.

rf-IVD2 is a four lemo channel wireless measuring device that takes real time readings with auto temperature correction using solid state diode detectors.

It provides a completely clear couch with no trailing leads; it has absolutely minimal installation requirements and can be expanded readily into a TBI system. Readings are taken through either the 12 channel control module or the software, both of which are supplied as standard.

The detectors are available in all MV energy ranges as well as electron and skin and are available as either flat QED or cylindrical ISORAD types for differing angular dependences.
